THE paddock is the favoured option for Get Up Jude after his disappointing effort in the Group Three Geelong Cup yesterday.
The Kembla Grange stayer couldn't match English raider Bauer, finishing well back. Trainer Diane Poidevin-Laine will assess in the next couple of days whether to keep chasing the dream of being part of the Melbourne Cup field."It wasn't what we wanted but we won't be making any decisions today," Poidevin-Laine said after the Geelong Cup setback."We'll see how he pulls up over the next couple of days and then decide if (he will) go on to the Saab (at Flemington on November 1)."He made a run from the half-mile today and didn't have a lot left in the final 200m and was well beaten."He has done a fantastic job to get this far, he is still a young horse and we could come back next year."
